I’ve loved painting since childhood, and it was a passion I nurtured throughout my school years, where I excelled artistically. I grew up in a working-class family, and my father instilled in me the importance of earning a living. With that practical advice in mind, I set aside my dream of becoming an artist and pursued a successful career running a London-based business delivering construction projects.
But art never left me. Fifteen years ago, I returned to painting, brush in hand and passion reignited. I updated my skills with courses at Central Saint Martins in London, reconnecting with my creative instincts and refining my techniques.
In 2019, I moved to Tavira on the Algarve, where I now live after travelling extensively across Europe in my motorhome, seeking out inspiration. These journeys fuel my studio practice—where I translate the essence of this experience into paintings.
Painting is, for me, a fully immersive experience—intoxicating and absorbing. I lose myself for hours in the studio, translating what I see, remember, and imagine into colour, form, and emotion. It’s a deeply personal process that continues to bring me joy and purpose.
